Of all the offices in the Five-Fold ministry, there is perhaps none more demanding than the office of Pastor. While the Teacher, Evangelist, Prophet and Apostle can, at least to some extent, insulate and separate themselves from the people they minister to, the Pastor is involved 24x7 with the needs and concerns of his flock. While the Teacher ministers to the mind of the believer, the Pastor ministers to and tries to protect the heart of his/her congregation. And, based on his 35 years in the pastoral ministry, it is obvious to Dr. Young that the overwhelming majority of the problems which average believers face deal, not with doctrine, but rather with emotional issues. Affairs of the heart, not the head, tend to rule in the lives of people, no matter if they are believers or not. It is this enormous emotional drain that causes many pastors to burn out and leave the ministry long before their term of service to the Lord is over. The caring, involved Pastor has to deal with a steady stream of emotional crises all day and all night long yet often has no one to turn to for his or her own emotional recharging. Too often, the flow is only out toward others, and never in toward the minister. In addition, car accidents, births, deaths and other crises cannot be handled with the use of a daily planner. The Global Revival Network Bible College is committed to providing not only education for the man or woman of God but also a support network of committed, Spirit-filled mentors and peers who have "Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt, sent the post card!" and who understand the enormous demands that the pastoral ministry places on the lives of the saints of God themselves from the people they minister to.
