There are so many dimensions to the work of the ministry. The needs of struggling, suffering humanity are so vast and so unmet that there
will never be a time before the return of Christ when all of those needs will be met. For the unsaved, the work of the ministry is the
proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, containing the Good News that they can know that they have eternal life and be saved, healed,
sanctified, delivered and to know that, no matter what they have to pass through, He will always be with them and in them, to help, sustain
and carry them forward on their path of life. For those who know Christ, there is the constant need to place the revealed Word of God into
their hearts and minds, moving them away from conformity to this world into a complete transformation by the renewing of their minds.
There is also the ever-present need for prayer and intercession, to deliver the Saints from the hands of the enemy and bring them into the
fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ. From a practical standpoint, there is the need for "helps" ministries, where distribution of
food, clothing, furniture and other essentials makes sure that we are doing good to all men, especially them that are the household of faith.
As a concrete illustration, Dr. Young remembers a time when he and his assistant pastor, Ron Ater, went to minister to a woman who had
been stabbed 47 times by a crazed ex-husband. The husband had also gone into her house while she was in the hospital recovering and
destroyed the contents, including all her furniture and clothing. Dr. Young and Brother Ater arrived at her house with a truck full of
furniture, clothing and food. While they were there, they prayed for her and her remaining wounds were instantly healed. And, to add glory
on glory, when her teenage daughter was prayed for, the daughter received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the most unusual way Dr. Young
has ever seen. Paul, in I Corinthians Chapter 13 speaks of "the tongues of men and of angels". When the daughter was baptized in the Holy
Spirit, she began to speak in an unknown tongue unlike anything they had ever heard before, a tongue which for all the world, sounded like
the beautiful sound that glass wind chimes make when stirred by a breeze. The daughter had never had the Gospel presented to her and knew
nothing whatsoever about the manifestations of the Spirit. When the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical needs of the Body are met,
God reaches out in grace and mercy to do amazing things.
In addition, Bible Colleges across the world train and raise up young Teachers, Pastors and Evangelists to help move the Kingdom forward.
Now, in this final hour, God is also raising up true Prophets and Apostles to complete the Five-Fold Ministry required to bring the Bride to "a
perfect man, to the fullness of the stature of the measure of Christ" (Ephesians 4:13). Intercessors who can't go but who can pray do so
fervently, calling on God to pour out His Holy Spirit across the globe. If you are unemployed and looking for a job, there is no lack of job
openings in the Kingdom of God, doing the work of the ministry. You will never be unemployed again and God will provide for all of your
needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Finally, at the end of your ministry career, the retirement benefits are out of this
world! There is no greater satisfaction than being able to reach out in the Name of Jesus to meet the needs of the world around you. Amen
and Amen!!!
